Supercooled

Supercooled is a term that refers to the phenomenon wherein matter drops below its freezing temperature, but still remains a liquid. When a material normally freezes, its atoms combine to form crystals. Supercooled rainwater falls through clear, warmer air, which preserves its liquid state until it hits a frozen surface where it is then allowed to freeze.
